About Jeremy Holmes
I currently live in Nashville TN and grew up in a small town located in upstate New York. My love for Art began in grade school when our class created primitive cameras out of oat meal boxes, and we had to develope our own film in make shift darkrooms. Over the years I would occasionally find time to take pictures at special events, but it wasn't until 2006 when I decided this was my dream, and it was then that I decided to put all my time and effort into my photography.
In 2007 I began to market my work everywhere I could, and before I knew it, my efforts and skills began to be noticed, my photos started to win contests, and I began to receive praise from many of my peers. This is when my work really started to gain recognition, and it became clear to me this was my dream come true. My work has since been published in many big name magazines like Shutterbug and many others. I also have photos in a hardcover book named "Capture Music City" and I even have a Nashville Skyline photo displayed as a backdrop for a local television show. I have also been a Guest speaker for Art Colleges and Camera clubs all around the Nashville area.
I now spend most of my time traveling the back roads of America discovering small towns and areas of our country that bring back many memories of my childhood, and there, through my photography, I can reveil to the rest of the world my memories and visions of years past.
Though I loved all formats of digital photography, it became clear to me early on that "infrared" photography would become my trademark. Even today infrared holds a special place in my heart, it shows the world a whole different perspective that cannot be seen through the human eye. About 50% of my work is done with infrared photography and that percentage is continuely growing.
My work is for sale in Galleries, and in local malls and restaurants. I receive many compliments and praise for my work, but nothing gives me a greater feeling of pride and self accomplishment than to know that people are willing to spend their hard earned money to purchase my pictures and visions. It is this, that keeps me thriving for more adventures.
